The Flavour of a fertile land

History of Pomodorobuono

Tomato plant originated in western South and Central America. In 1770, the viceroy of Peru has donated to the king of Naples, Ferdinand I, some seeds of this plant.

The Agro Sarnese-Nocerino has rappresented, since then, a generous place to these seeds: mediterranean climate, vulcanic soil, expert and passionate hands, have privileged this plant giving its fruits extraordinary taste and succulency. The San Marzano tomato is very delicate: it is exclusively harvested manually and his processing, compared to the one of other tomato varieties, is pricey and tough.

Taste and healthiness are the most important features of the San Marzano tomato PDO: rich in fundamental vitamins and mineral salts; rich in fibers and water; it is cholesterol-lowering; it is a good anticancer thanks to Lycopene; high levels of beta-carotene; it is a good metabolism booster; #IlPomodoroBuono is Healty and Tasty;

The plant of San Marzano tomato is tall and leafy; its fruits, tomatoes, taste sweet and sour, they are long 6 or 8 centimetres and red when ripened. This variety differs from others thanks to: a thin peel, less seeds, more pulp and a PH never over 4.5 .
